Houston has some of the most stunning architecture in the world. The downtown skyline hosts buildings by such notable architects as I.M. Pei, Philip Johnson, and John Burgee.
Various pieces of sculpture add to the beauty of downtown. One is Joanó’s Personage and Birds, which is located in JPMorgan Chase Tower plaza. The cast-bronze sculpture is painted bright blue, green, red, and yellow. At its base the piece is 35 feet wide and is 55 feet tall. Personage and Birds is the largest commissioned sculpture by Miró. It is a depiction of a person with birds flying above the head. The sculpture seems light-weight and as if it could start walking across the plaza.
